Social Media Marketing Tips For Beginners.

What is Social Media Marketing?

Social media marketing is the process of creating awareness about you, your products or services through various social media channels.

The ultimate goal of any social media marketing campaign is to drive traffic to a website, increase the visibility of a product, get more social media followers or find more customers.

Today’s most popular social media networks are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Why is Social Media Marketing Important?

Social media marketing is important because:

  • This is the fastest way to spread the word about a new product, service or news item – a tweet can be a rival in minutes and a message can spread around the word in comparison to TV or other traditional media.
  • It’s a trend – millions of people spend their time on social media networks, so if you need them then you will know where they want to meet
  • This is a new marketing – in the olden days, marketers have found that many people spend time driving in their cars so that they can think of billboards on the streets. Today people are spending time on social media, so as a marketer, you have to start thinking like this.
  • This is a new trend – recent studies show that social media is becoming a great sales channel, and more and more companies are telling that they receive customers from Facebook or Twitter.

Social media marketing tips for beginners

How can you take advantage of social media? How can a proper social media presence make the beginning faster?

Read and follow our 10 tips below and do not forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest!

1. Decide which social media platform to use

As the beginning of social media, you have to choose one or two social media platforms and instead of trying to work on all the platforms, they have to pay attention to them. It is a mistake that many beginners do, and in the end, they leave no profit.

It’s a good way to find out which platform is most suitable for your niche, finding and analyzing influential people where they have success.

For example, find leaders in your niche and see the number of Facebook fans, Twitter followers, Pinterest followers, etc.

If they have 100,000 Facebook fans but only 1000 Twitter followers, then it is a good sign that FB is more suitable for your niche from Twitter.

It is also an indication that you are more likely to get success with FB compared to Twitter, so you can use your time more efficiently and engage more on FB than any other platform.

2. Customize Your Social Media Profiles

Once you decide which social media tool you will use (at least for beginners), the next step is to optimize your profile on those sites. By optimizing your profile, you increase the likelihood of getting more followers and it is also a great way to promote your SEO efforts.

Some general rules that apply to all sites:

  • Use real face, show your face – Avoid using animals, places or real things that are not real. Social media is about connecting people and if you want a credible profile then you have to get out of your cage and put your face on the web!
  • Write a good description of yourself – what is your expertise? What are you proud of? Mention that this is your profile.
  • Prompt users what kind of information you would like to share – although this is not necessary, I like reading in profiles what kind of information is expected from a particular person. For example, in my Instagram profile, I wrote: “Digital Marketing, social media, internet marketing tips”.
  • Include a link for your website (where applicable) – In the ‘Contributor’ section on Facebook, on the Google+ section ‘Website section’ contains a link in the ‘About section’ link on Twitter and Pinterest. In other words, also use your social media profile for SEO purposes.

I suggest that you promote SEO to your social media profiles article, which includes more examples and instructions about what you need to do on each social media site for greater risk.

3. Connect your website or blog to your social media pages

After your social media profile is ready, the next step is to link your website to your social media pages.

A perfect binding between the two means that search engines and social media websites know which website corresponds to the social media page.

For example, when I created a Google+ page for reliablesoft.net, Google+ did not know that this is the official page of the site until I added the publisher verification code to my site.

You can follow these instructions for Facebook
You can read this for Google+
For Pinterest, you can verify your website using this process
You follow this for Twitter

4. Add Social Media Button to Your Website

In addition to adding your website to related business pages on social media, you also need to add a social media button to your website so that readers can easily share your content.

There are several ways and plugins to do this on a platform, I recommend that you do a search on Google using “How to add social media buttons to XXXXXX” – replace XXXX with a platform based on your website.

For example, if you are using Google’s WordPress search “How to Add Social Media Buttons in WordPress”.

As a general rule of thumb, keep buttons above the fold to increase exposure and keep in mind that large buttons get more clicks than small buttons.

5. Find and follow effective in your niche

So far, we have selected the most appropriate social media tool for our niche, have optimized our social media profile, have added our website to social media pages and have added buttons to our pages for more interaction.

The next obvious step is to follow people, but most importantly, gradually build our tribe of followers.

Before coming into it, you must first find and follow the influences in your niche.

It is almost certain that they will not follow you because you do not have a new account with any followers, but due to doing so it is important for 3 reasons:

  1. The social media platform will use this information to suggest that what you have to follow by popular people in your vicinity is like saying that you are also in that place.
  2. When you follow those popular people who are likely to come along with others. Many people use to follow the followers of a popular person because they know that some people will follow them too.
  3. They will probably share important and useful information about this place so that you have a chance to learn something new and share it again with your followers.

6. Keep the balance between the following and followers

Once you start following people, you should always keep in mind that it is better to balance between the number of people you follow and the number of people follows you.

This is especially important in Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest and the reasons are a lot:

  1. Software applications are using this ratio (followers/followers) to suggest ‘follow the proportion’, so if you have a very high ratio, then you reduce the likelihood of getting new quality followers.
  2. It’s a matter of trust – you think who is a dependable profile: someone with 1000 followers, but after 2500 or someone with 550 followers who follows 510?
  3. A balanced profile is better for SEO – SEO has been talking about the importance of social media for SEO over the past few months and how things are changing and although it has not yet been confirmed, it is more likely that strong People with social media profiles are having poor profile people in a better position.

In this case, a strong profile is a person following which there are more followers and such a person after which it is considered influential in the niche.

.7 Share interesting content (text, images, video)

This is the foundation for keeping successful social media marketing campaigns. When we talk about publishing content, we always say ‘Content is king‘ and it is also true in social media.

If you share interesting and useful content, you can reshare more with your customers in more situations on your website.

What is interesting content? From my experience (and some studies) this is a combination:

  • Articles/ stories/pages related to your niche, not only from your own website.
  • Interesting statistics about your niche
  • Motivational quotes are related to your niche or otherwise
  • Research studies
  • Images and videos
  • Funny stuff – Whatever you have got, you can share a joke, a strange image or a video, with your followers smiling.
  • Do not forget about hashtags – hashtags (#) can make your content more discoverable, so do not forget to use hashtags in networks that support it (Twitter, Google+).

8. Follow the rules and be patient

There are rules for keeping spammers in the social media network. For example, there is a limit on Twitter on the number of people who follow every day; There is also a limit on the number of people who can add/delete your circles on Google+, Facebook, Instagram has its own rules, etc.

This means that it can take some time to create thousands of followers, so you need to be patient and breaking the rules (your account will be suspended) or by spending your money, buying ‘followers or tweets’ and participating in the results Try it. Or anything is the same.

Try to spend your time making a great social media profile which will be standing over time and why not become an official profile in your niche.

When it comes to social media, there are two important pillars. First of all is to do with the setup of your social media profile and the other is about use i.e. how do you use your social media account.

For the first column, it is important to be more appropriate for your niche in the network and to have a proper connection between your social media pages and website.

For the second pillar, it is important to follow the right people, be followed by the right people and always follow the rules of various social media networks, it is important to always share relevant and interesting content.
